IPBES 2019 Global Assessment Report on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services

In May 2019 the IPBES launched 2019 Global Assessment Report on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services. Presenting the new global synthesis of the state of nature, ecosystems and nature’s contributions to people, the IPBES prepared the first ever inter-governmental Report on the topic, since the landmark Millennium Ecosystem Assessment published in 2005. The Report was prepared by 150 leading international experts from 50 countries, balancing representation from the natural and social sciences, with additional contributions from a further 250 experts, working with the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES). The Report aim is to inform better policies and actions for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services protection in the coming decade.
