Resource Environmental Community – REC Montenegro is an organization that will draw its actions on extensive project management experience and expertise of the expert team at national and regional level, to provide expert, technical, educational and logistical support in the field of environmental protection, sustainable development, climate change mitigation, regional development as well as European integration through development, promotion and application of the best and new methodologies and technologies for the country’s sustainable development.
REC Montenegro as a partner, training center, expert/resource center for sustainable management of natural resources, project management center to public, private and international organizations, shall serve as a specialized, information and advisory center for policies and activities for society democratic growth and reaching sustainable development.
- Development of the country and the region in compliance with the policies, plans, procedures, laws and regulations of the European Union (EU) and the United Nations (UN), in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development.
- Economic and industry development based on the principles of environmental protection, sustainable development and mitigation/reduction of negative climate change impacts.
- Creating and strengthening of skills and knowledge of institutions and organizations inside and outside the country in the field of environment, sustainable development and change impacts.
- Supporting the educational system in the country and beyond in raising awareness, skills and knowledge of students in the field of environment, sustainable development and climate change.
- Promoting professional development for the protection of cultural heritage and environment, as well as the sustainable development of the country and region by respecting the principles of sustainable development and efficient use of resources and applying Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Supporting prevention, mitigation and response to extreme weather / natural disasters.
- Supporting and empowering civil society, public and private actors, active in the field of environmental protection, sustainable development and climate change in and outside the country.
- Establishing cooperation with public institutions on national and local level, active in the field of environmental protection, sustainable development and climate change, in and outside the country.
- Establishing cooperation with NGOs and civil society organizations from the region and beyond.
- Establishing cooperation with businesses, international organizations and foreign companies active in the field of environmental protection, sustainable development and mitigation / reduction of climate change impacts.
- Promotion and development of initiatives for transfer of innovative and/or new technologies, streamlining of production and services, as well as strengthening of cultural traditions through activities that favor development of ecotourism, agro-tourism and (traditional) crafts, in and outside the country.
- Support, utilize and promote technologies, construction and products in the service of environmental protection and sustainable development.
- Representing and presenting Montenegro’s interests in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development at international conferences.
- Participation in international projects in the fields of environment, sustainable development and climate change.
- Raising awareness of the population and all concerned in the field of environmental protection, sustainable development and mitigation / reduction of climate change impacts.
- Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and quality standards in the field of environmental protection and climate change, with the aim of achieving sustainable development in and outside the country.
- Provision of assistance and advice to the public and private sectors to improve and more effectively control the implementation of environmental legislation, the green/blue economy and climate change.
- Supporting and assisting the preparation of strategic documents, regulations and plans and programs at national and local level, in the fields of environment, sustainable development, green/blue economy, energy efficiency/energy and climate change.
- Provision of assistance, services, counseling and training to public institutions, enterprises, associations, civil society organizations and other organizations and individuals, especially young people, in order to become skilled and proficient and apply the most advanced technologies and methods that improve the conditions for service delivery and product creation and use.
- Education, development support and institutional strengthening of public state institutions, businesses, associations, civil society organizations and other organizations and institutions, on requirements of EU directives and international principles and Sustainable Development Goals, in the field of environmental protection, sustainable development and climate change.
- Development and application of modern technologies for environmental protection, mitigation/reduction of climate change impact and achievement of sustainable development.
- Education of target groups in the field of environmental protection, sustainable development and mitigation / mitigation of climate change impacts.
- Promote the application of quality management standards in field of environmental protection and sustainable development.
- Raising awareness and sharing information to the public of the requirements of EU directives and international principles, and Sustainable Development Goals, as well as the principles of sustainable use of natural resources, sustainable development and climate change, through newsletters, campaigns, conferences, educations, modern and new educational tools, roundtables and similar activities.
- Participation in international conferences and presentation of Montenegro’s interests in the field of environmental protection, sustainable development and climate change.
- Participation in international and European projects.
- Participation in environmental and infrastructure projects, as well as developmental projects, in the field of environmental protection, sustainable development and climate change.
- Participation and support for development and promotion of existing and new/innovative technologies, construction and products in the service of environmental protection and sustainable development.
